Website Privacy Notice
Hunkapi Programs, Inc. (“HŪNKAPI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of people seeking information about our therapeutic horse programs. This notice explains what information this website collects, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
When you submit the intake form, email us, or call us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number, city or ZIP code, and preferred contact time.
- Basic information about who is seeking services, such as participant age, whether the request concerns an individual, child, person in your care, or organization, and whether first-responder, military, or veteran routing applies.
- The program or general area of support you select and any optional information you choose to include.
Please do not use email to send Social Security numbers, insurance or member IDs, medical records, payment-card information, detailed clinical histories, or other highly sensitive documents.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting and security providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited, timestamps, and security or error logs. If analytics are enabled, we will use privacy-conscious settings intended to understand aggregate site usage rather than build advertising profiles.
How we use information
- To respond to your request and help identify an appropriate program or next step.
- To route inquiries to the appropriate HŪNKAPI staff member or service team.
- To provide information about scheduling, referrals, insurance pathways, or scholarships when relevant.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and intake communications.
- To comply with law, protect safety, and establish or defend legal rights.
Health information
This website is an information resource, not a medical-record portal. When HŪNKAPI provides services subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) or other health-information laws, a separate Notice of Privacy Practices and program-specific forms may govern protected health information. This Website Privacy Notice does not replace those documents. You may request the applicable notice by contacting us.
How we share information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:
- Authorized HŪNKAPI employees, clinicians, instructors, contractors, and volunteers who need it to respond or provide services.
- Service providers that support hosting, security, form processing, email, data storage, and website operations, subject to appropriate contractual and security requirements.
- Government authorities, courts, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
- Another party at your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use intake information for targeted advertising.
Form delivery, retention and security
In the current website implementation, intake requests are delivered to authorized HŪNKAPI staff by email through our hosting and email-delivery providers; the website does not maintain a separate intake database. Copies may remain in authorized email systems and provider logs according to their settings and retention practices.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide or evaluate services, satisfy legal and operational requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you provided through email or telephone communications initiated from this website, subject to legal, clinical-record, insurance, and operational retention requirements. You may also ask us to stop nonessential communications. To make a request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity or authority.
Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults, including parents, legal guardians, and authorized caregivers. Children under 13 should not submit information directly. If we learn that a child under 13 submitted personal information without appropriate adult involvement, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Third-party services and links
This site may link to third-party services, such as scholarship applications. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We are not responsible for third-party sites that we do not control.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our services, technology, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
